Job Title: Peer Advocate, Peer Advocate Supervisor
Description: Full-time, part-time (16, 20hrs) bilingual.
Full time english only.
- Teach and model the principles and practices of self-help and recovery.
- Answering help-line in a busy Peer Advocacy program.
- Aid recipients in linking to, and negotiating service systems such as Social Security, VESID, legal, medical, mental health and housing sources.
- Providing the services above within a group setting when possible, and in a way that promotes empowerment, self-help, and self-advocacy.
- Provide services above in languages other than english.
Qualifications:
- Current or former recipient of mental health services.
- Experience or training with internship as a Peer Advocate.
- Good communication skills.
- Bilingual a big plus.
- Supervisory experience a big plus.
- Office and computer skills helpfull.
Salary:
Full-time: low to high 20's; Part-time: $7.00/hr.
