Supported Employment Notification

Update on the Supported Employment application process:

The application process will be completed by 12/6. Decisions have been made based upon that process. Award letters will be mailed to every applicant by early the following week. Awardees will be asked to determine if they want to enter into a contract for the services actually awarded. They will also be asked to determine their need for Extended slots in consultation with the VESID District Office.

The start-date for the new contracts has been moved to 7/1/03 and the current SE contracts will be extended to 6/30/03. This extension of both the start-date for the new contracts and the end-date of current contracts was made to provide everyone involved with sufficient time to make the programmatic shifts required by the outcome of the application process (including both Intensive and Extended consumers) and, if appropriate, to complete the transfer of individuals from OMRDD into the VESID Extended program required by the Medicaid Waiver as applied by OMRDD. It is our intention to assure that every individual currently in SE services will continue to receive appropriate services. The contract extension will permit that.
